How do I find out my own ping at OB? And more important – What can I do to make my connection better?
You can find out your ping (the time it takes in milliseconds for your computer to get a response from OB server) by writing /ping in your chat room window and press return. An average connection will be around 50. To make your connection faster you can try closing all other browser windows (if you are downloading music, films, programs etc. you are likely to have a high ping). Another explanation for a slow connection could be that your network has a flaw; you must then contact whomever responsible.
I have experienced errors in the script at OB when I have tried to start a game – what is wrong?
Our fault! VIPs or Admins, who want to enter a new text in the Onlinebandit news scroller, sometimes write an illegal symbol, which creates script errors for all users. But we always correct the error very quickly, and it happens very rarely.
My radio does not play – What is the problem?
The apparent reason: It is merely turned off, try pressing the play button at the top left hand corner; maybe a double click will do the trick! The problem could also be found at the radio stations own server, in which case you can only wait until they’ve fixed the bug. If it isn’t any of the two, you could have a flaw in your own sound system.
I can not get into OB; I never get past the login screen. Whats my problem?
First try to click on "Search" and wait for it to finish! If this doesn't work it is probably because you are behind a firewall or proxy server. Please talk to the network responsible if you are behind a firewall or proxy server and get him to open the correct ports. If you are behind a gateway you have to set up a TCP/IP alias on the gateway. You can change the server setting in file "c:\programmer\onlinebandit\gamezone\settings.ini" in the line "server=" and in "ports=" you should set the value to the port you want it to connect to your gateway on.
How do I uninstall OB?
You must browse to c:/programs/onlinebandit on your computer and right click with your mouse on the folder, choose “delete”! Go back to your desktop and delete the OB icon. Now OB is uninstalled!
How do I change my password?
You can do this at OB itself. Go to: “users” and then “settings” (bottom left hand corner). In the popup window, click “personal data” and write your new password where it says “new password”. Make sure to write the new password right the first time, as you will not be asked to confirm it!
How do I delete my profile?
Do this at OB. At the “Frontpage”, you must click “bandits” then “show/edit profile”. When this is done, you simply delete all text and your picture if you have one, then press “send” and your profile is gone!
How do I turn off the OB sounds?
Go to “users” and then “settings”. In the popup window, click the green V, which will now turn into a red X and the sounds are off!
